Reality is relational before it is physical
or as physicist Carlo Rovelli is fond of saying
​
"Reality is made of more kisses than stones."

 

He means that when you look closely, even something as solid as a rock is actually made up of relationships, not fixed things.  Relational interactions allow a thing to be a thing at all. 

 

This means that relationality is interpersonal, systemic and the foundation of material​ reality.​ 
 
Artemisia de Vine may have uncovered structural desire, the force that creates the momentum driving all levels of relationality. The creation, maintenance, and transformation of any self, thing or system.

But this is not just a philosophy. It's practical, operational and provable. 

​

The deVinery Grammar of Desire proposes 3 invariants that act as coordinates, making navigation possible in a sea of relational complexity.

 

It provides a category of measurement we have never had before.

Normally we try to remove any subjectivity in order to find ways to measure reality accurately. We mistakenly prioritise the rocks over the kisses but the deVinery body of work found a way of measuring reality that includes both.

The radical move is that the deVinery body of work makes it possible for falsifiable measurability that bridges the subjectivity–objectivity split giving us more accuracy, not less. 

It makes measurement of both traditionally measurable objectivity and lived, situated, relational reality operationally measurable without stripping away the very subjectivity that carries it. Instead uses that very subjectivity as a parallax. 

 

Materialism stops being the invisible ground of “what reality really is” and becomes one situated descriptive layer among others.

The big move is this:
 

Materialism is very good at measuring what can be represented from the outside. The deVinery architecture makes the inside/outside relation itself measurable without converting the inside into the outside first.

The invariants also makes deVinery desire signatures and the trajectory of emergence perceptible, predictable, diagnosable, designable, and navigable.​

The institute's purpose is to research and develop both the upstream foundational claim and its downstream operational functions.
